Whether you’re a size 8 or a size 18, dress shopping can be tricky! Maybe the amazing fishtail style you had in mind just doesn’t work on your slimmer hips, or you’ve only been able to try on teeny tiny sample sizes and you don’t exactly feel at your most glamorous. Either way, your shape is going to be at the forefront of your mind. Even if you’re planning on losing weight before the wedding, you need to choose a dress that’s right for you. Here at Alexia Designs, we’re proud to create gowns for every girl, in sizes 2-28.

Here are our favourite tips and tricks to feel like a princess on your big day!

A full skirt can work wonders for any girl – if you’re self-conscious about your tummy or hips, a full skirt will flare out and cover any problem areas, and it looks fantastic for your first dance! For the ultimate full skirt choose our gorgeous style W420. The gorgeous keyhole back keeps this dress modern and on-trend, and makes sure you don’t vanish in a cloud of tulle!

If you’ve got a fantastic figure, a fishtail or mermaid style is perfect – you can show off your curves but keep a little bit of wedding extravagance with a flared skirt. For vintage inspired elegance, choose Alexia style W421, with a lovely V-shaped back and lace applique.

If you prefer to dress modestly, choose a dress with sleeves – delicate illusion lace or mesh paneling gives you coverage without covering you in thick fabric! Style W431 has soft lace sleeves and a jeweled waistband – modest doesn’t mean you don’t want a bit of sparkle, after all!
